About Teacher Peter

Peter Schrupp is a Los Angeles–based musician, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and educator. He fronts the indie rock band Arms Akimbo, which has toured nationally, sold out venues across the U.S., and shared stages with artists like Walk the Moon, Motion City Soundtrack, and Briston Maroney. Fully independent, the band has earned millions of streams, built a dedicated following, and been featured in Billboard.

As both an indie rocker and children’s musician, Peter blends heartfelt storytelling with strong melodic instincts shaped by years of performing and teaching. His songwriting has also reached beyond his own projects, including collaborations with Zach Gordon (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) and placements across Netflix, CBS, Apple TV, The CW, MTV, and FOX.

He lives in Los Angeles with his girlfriend and two cats, where he continues to teach music to families and spend his downtime playing basketball or catching a movie.

Teacher Peter’s Oopsie Daisy is the debut album from Los Angeles-based indie rocker turned beloved children’s musician Peter Schrupp. Built from years of hands-on experience as an educator, it’s an upbeat, heartfelt, bilingual exploration of meaningful themes for young children.

Inspired by moments from his own classroom, Oopsie Daisy takes its name from a lyric that captures its playful and accepting outlook on mistakes. Through these songs, Teacher Peter encourages openness, emotional growth, creativity, and bilingual learning beyond the classroom.

With rich instrumentation and thoughtful songwriting, the album tackles real-life lessons for kids—from handling anger and practicing kindness to simply being silly. Schrupp, raised in a bilingual home, celebrates the fluidity of language throughout.

Highlights include the welcoming “Tap Tap Tap,” the imaginative “My Brother’s Got a Rocketship,” and the bilingual dance track “Vamos a Bailar.” “Breakfast Song” turns a child’s spontaneous classroom moment into a groovy indie-pop routine, while “It’s OK to Make Mistakes” and “Pick You Up” deliver comfort and encouragement. Songs like “Just Breathe” and “Goodbye Friends” help kids self-regulate and wind down their day.

Schrupp recorded in Los Angeles with longtime collaborators John and Stephen Gomez, who brought a fresh, modern pop sensibility to the children’s genre.
